This publication is based on the ISTD brief “Weather dependent.” This project focuses on how weather stations in Ireland record and communicate weather events to show how extreme weather affects people and the environment. Topics discussed include the map of Ireland’s automatic weather stations, Irish storms that changed history and four weather stations that had a significant impact on society. I used Joost Grooten’s publications, which explain technical information to an audience.
